Travelling To Fowey

CAR

Fowey is located in South East Cornwall approximately 35 miles by road west of the Tamar bridge (Plymouth).

Boat parking will be centred at Caffa Mill PL23 1DF.

Approaching from the east you will turn off the A390 a few miles past Lostwithiel onto the B3269. Approaching from the west follow the signs off the A390 onto the A3082 which will take you through Par.

Both these approaches will bring you to a roundabout by a petrol station. At this roundabout follow signs to Bodinnick Ferry and Car Park Caffa Mill which is still the B3269.

Do NOT follow signs to Fowey Town Centre. The main road through Fowey town centre is very narrow. Do not attempt to tow trailers through it!

The road is narrow after the first half mile and care should be taken to allow passing room - especially if towing a trailer.

At the bottom of the hill you arrive at Caffa Mill car Park (passing Station Yard car park on the way). Caffa Mill fronts onto the river.

Boat parking will be mainly in a roped off area by the river which will be signed.

Do not drive into the actual boat park area but take your boat off trailer and wheel into parking.

Trailers are to be removed straight away to keep the car park clear. The trailer park will be found by retracing your route back up the hill you just came down. The parking is on the left hand side and will be signed.

RAIL

The nearest station is Par. Fast trains from London to Penzance all stop at Fowey and leave every hour in the day. Direct trains are around 4 hours from London.

Other routes from Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and Scotland also pass through Fowey . More information can be found on this link to National Rail

From Par station there are two buses to Fowey that leave from bus-stops on the road outside the station. Be aware there are bus stops on each side of the road and you can go to Fowey from both as long as you get the correct bus! Routes are 24 and 25 and are roughly once an hour. Check website here.

AIR

Cornwall Newquay Airport is about 21 miles north of Fowey. Flights from elsewhere in the UK regularly fly into the airport. Check their website here.
